They are constructed from timber, ply and batten, one of the strongest bracing systems available, and have soffits over exterior walls - so no leaky homes here. Our floors, walls and ceilings are better insulated, and our windows are not only double-glazed but all filled with argon, and those with sunny aspects have UV blocks.

Better design

More than anything else, your home should be a pleasure to live in. Leisure Time Eco Homes are modern, light and spacious. Some plans have optional 2.7 metre ceilings in the living area with large bright windows. They offer a comfortable flow, from the garage (with larger doors), through to the lounge and kitchen and onward to the sleeping areas. Throughout, many extra design features promote warmth and safety including 50% thicker floors in living areas for better use of low cost night power.

Fewer ongoing costs

Free yourself from worries about rising energy and maintenance costs. Leisure Time Eco Homes are designed to place as little pressure on your weekly income as possible. The homes are built from strong, long-lasting materials such as no maintenance brick cladding and are extremely well insulated. Power-saving devices, from induction cook-tops to LED and fluorescent lighting, are standard. Our state of the art radiant heating system not only uses a fraction of the energy of conventional central heating systems, it does so more cheaply, by utilising heat pump technology and off-peak electricity prices. In 2010 - 2011 the SunFlow Eco House cost an average of $12.30 per week to heat.

Safer

A safe home is a relaxing home. With Leisure Time Eco Homes, safety is not an afterthought, but integral to the whole design process. Entrances are well lit, we use non-slip surfaces where possible and steps are kept to a minimum. The homes exceed earthquake strength requirements. Security features, including alarms, dead locks and automatic lighting systems, are installed in every home.

Healthier

Warm, dry, well-ventilated homes help keep you healthy. They can mean fewer respiratory problems, less arthritic pain, better nights' sleep and greater happiness and comfort. Our modern radiant-heating floor system adjusts depending on indoor and outdoor temperatures, providing comfort in every room that you choose to heat. Many further creature comforts have also been thought of, including time- controlled heated towel rails, optional electric blinds for the large living room windows and all the wiring for Sky and Free-to-Air TV.
